DM25 - What Next for Aitor Throup?
Fashion critic and Editor-at-Large of Style.com Tim Blanks asks designer Aitor Throup about his distinctive take on fashion and what is next for his studio.
Since graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2006, the designer has worked on an eclectic and ever-expanding range of projects, from designing fashion collections to curating installations exhibiting garments worn by life-size sculptures, to being the creative director of albums by musicians such as rock band Kasabian and Damon Albarn.
In this talk, Aitor discusses his fascination with anatomy, the importance of placing functionality at the heart of each designed object and his creative use of innovative methods of design and production.
