The Roar Of The Lion: The Making of Churchill’s World War Speeches
It is widely believed that the British people were unanimously enthusiastic about Churchill’s wartime speeches. Many were, but others were not. Drawing on contemporary diary and survey evidence, author and historian Richard Toye shows that Churchill’s speeches were much more controversial, and much more criticised, than popular myths suggest.
Lecture starts at 7:00pm (doors open 6:30pm) and tickets include the opportunity to view Churchill War Rooms after the event.
