Beyond The Joke: Emily’s Very Sad Play: Sara Pascoe
Sara Pascoe presents Emily’s Very Sad Play, a fusion of theatre and standup comedy, telling the story of a young woman with confused memories and an unhealthy absorption of literature.
Sara Pascoe is an actor and standup comic. She has been selected as one of Time Out’s ‘Rising stars of comedy’, is well known for her appearances in the sitcoms The Thick of It and Twenty Twelve, and has recently appeared on BBC1’s Live at the Apollo.
Sara Pascoe’s show will be followed by a bonus performance by a Perrier Award-winning special guest, who will be offering an all-new, bespoke ‘scratch’ show addressing the idea of combining theatre and standup.
Sara Pascoe
Sara Pascoe is a British writer, stand-up comedian and actress. She has appeared in a number of television programmes, as well as an all-female sketch show and her own Edinburgh show, and runs comedy club The House Of Mirth.
Sara's stand-up is influenced by her joint favourite heroes, Jodie Marsh and Winston Churchill.
'Always intelligent and occasionally exquisite' (The Independent)
'Pascoe uses erudite references as just one strand of an offbeat worldview, offset by moments of gloriously deliberate dumbness and delivered with nothing less than full-megawatt charisma' (The Guardian)
'... defiantly idiosyncratic and highly accessible' (Evening Standard).
