Stricken by poverty and tormented by the voices in his head, Franz Woyzeck is a lowly soldier who stops at nothing to care for his family. But when his common-law wife has an affair, the pressures upon him prove unbearable and Woyzeck's spiralling mental instability pushes him over the edge and drives him to destroy the thing he loves the most.

A pre-show talk precedes both performances.
