Last Night Of The Autumn Proms: Catrin Aur, Nicholas Ransley, Manchester Concert Orchestra
After a summer of national festivities and once in a lifetime spectacular events, this rousing concert presents a feast of hand-picked popular classics crowned with a jubilant Proms finale.
From Verdi's unforgettable Brindisi from La Traviata and Elgar's stirringly beautiful Chanson de Matin, to an invigorating blast of Sousa's remarkable Liberty Bell March, a stream of all-time favourites flows throughout the evening.
Further defining works include Pachelbel Canon, Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty Waltz, Dvorak's Largo from his New World Symphony and Puccini's enchanting O Soave Fanciulla.
Of course, capturing the spirit of the occasion, no Proms celebration would be complete without such classics as Nessun Dorma, Jerusalem, Land of Hope and Glory and Rule, Britannia!, where flag waving and audience participation is strongly encouraged.
