Shangaan Electro Workshop & Performance

Shangaan Electro is the high-speed dance phenomenon from South Africa that is rising from streets into clubs, homes and venues all around the globe.

For the first time this summer the stars of the genre will lead a series of dance workshops across the UK in which dancers of all ages and abilities can learn the secrets of this unique and infectious style. Set up on the floor like a Shangaan dance party, these will be affordably priced, limited capacity participatory events, so early booking is recommended.

Participants will also have a chance to try out their moves in public at an array of Shangaan Electro live performances, featuring producer/vocalist and leader of the dance Nozinja, the clown-masked Tshetsha Boys, plus vocalists Tiyiselani and Nkata Mawewe.

Dazzling footwork and rubber-limbed body shakes combine with hyper-accelerated beats, addictive vocals and some crazy, colourful costumes to give the Shangaan style wide-ranging summer appeal.
