Lauryna Sableviciute, Nicholas Ashton

Lauryna Sableviciute and Nicholas Ashton first met when they were asked to perform together at a Contemporary Music Festival at Glasgow University in 2008. Noticing that there were not many piano duos working within this area, they decided to form a duo, Re: Sono, with the aim of blending programmes of new works with less well-known repertoire from the Classical and Romantic periods and to ask composers to write for them. They have since performed together at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the Universities of Edinburgh, Salford, Glasgow, Edinburgh Napier, premiering works by composers teaching at these institutions.
