Mark Gibbs, Christopher Atkinson

This programme will showcase pieces from the German Romantic repertoire for Viola and Piano.

Schubert's famous Arpeggione Sonata is accompanied by Schumann's extrovert Märchenbilder op.113 and Paul Hindemith's beautiful miniature Meditation.

Mark Gibbs (viola) graduated from Royal College of Music in 2013 and has since been forging a career as a recitalist and orchestral musician in London and abroad.

Christopher Atkinson (piano), who grew up in Lincolnshire, is currently a postgraduate student at Royal Academy of Music and we are delighted to be welcome him back to the Drill Hall.

This concert is organised by the Lincolnshire International Chamber Music Festival.
