Richard III

A Curve Community Production.

“Now is the winter of our discontent
Made glorious summer by this sun of York”

1461. As Edward IV is crowned King of England, nobody could imagine the events, the deceit and the struggle for power that would follow. For everyone underestimated the relentless ambition of his younger brother, Richard. Richard III, the future King of England.

One of Shakespeare‘s most famous works, the play follows the rise to power of this misunderstood young King. Treachery, passion and murder combine in the lead up to his bloody and violent death on the Bosworth battlefield in 1485.

Directed by Nikolai Foster, this dark, visceral and dynamic production will bring Richard III’s epic story to the stage and will also mark this important year for Leicester, the final resting place of our last Plantagenet King.

A hugely talented and vibrant community cast will join forces with Curve’s professional production team to present this contemporary take on Shakespeare’s classic.
