The National Youth Orchestra Of Great Britain, John Wilson (3)

This New Year, Leeds Town Hall will host a concert with the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain in a Winter concert that promises to be an explosive mixture of heritage, insight and raw musical passion.

Charismatic showstopper John Wilson joins forces with the world's greatest orchestra of teenagers, the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, to put their distinctive youthful stamp on the first great British symphony. Grand in scope and luscious in texture, Elgar's Symphony No. 1 sets out to transport the listener 'beyond a wide experience of human life...with love...and a massive hope in the future'.

Accompanying this symphonic masterpiece, you'll journey through Elgar's arrangement of Bach's richly imaginative Fantasia and Fugue in C minor, and savour the colourful sights and sounds of The Eternal City in Respighi's Pines of Rome.

There will also be a pre-concert talk with Simon Lindley commencing at 6:45pm.
