Ayrshire District Round Of The Scottish Community Drama Association's One Act Play Festival

Three experienced Ayrshire drama groups each perform a one-act play as part of the Scottish Community Drama Association's annual One-Act Play Festival.

After the performances, the audience hear comments on each play from a professional adjudicator followed by the presentation of trophies for the Best Play, Best Acting and Best Staging. The winner on the night goes forward to the next round of this prestigious Festival when they compete with clubs from all over the West of Scotland for a place in the Scottish Final.

This excellent evening's entertainment starts with Stewarton Drama Group's production of Excess Baggage, a comedy drama for six women, written and directed by Nancy McPherson. This is followed by McGavin Drama Club's production of Ron Nicol's poignant new play Primrose Way, directed by Madeline Reid. The final play of the evening is Outside The Box, written by JPS Yates and performed by The Dunlop Players.
