An Evening with
Superb actress, award-winning author, Sheila gave a spell-binding interview when she came to the Borders Book Festival in 2005 to talk about The Two of Us, her stunning memoir of life with John Thaw. Her first novel is even better. Miss Carter’s War chronicles the life of Marguerite, a half-French, half-English war orphan who makes her life in post-war Britain. Sheila has created a sweeping narrative – from the austerity of the 40s through the Aldermaston marches and the Swinging Sixties to the wars in Iraq. Wonderful storytelling from a great actress.
