Elijah
Elijah has been a favourite oratorio with singers and audiences since it was written for and premiered at the Birmingham Festival in 1846. The music reflects Mendelssohn's love of the choral works of Bach and Handel, and the work depicts various events in the life of the Biblical prophet, Elijah.
It is some years since Inverness Choral Society last performed Elijah, but, with a strong line-up of soloists, a choir of 130 singers, and the support of the Inverness Choral Sinfonia, this is sure to be an evening of great music-making.
