Forth Bridge 125: A View From The Top

To celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Forth Rail Bridge and to raise money for a worthy cause, Network Rail, in partnership with the Prince's Trust, is offering an exclusive one-off opportunity to visit the top of the bridge during this significant anniversary year.

The meeting point for the tour will be the Albert Hotel (nearest railway station: North Queensferry) where you will enjoy a presentation on the history of the bridge and its recent refurbishment whilst enjoying light refreshments. From there, join us on a short walk to the work compound in North Queensferry where you will board the service lift to ascend the Fife cantilever to the viewing platform 360 feet above the Firth of Forth. The duration of the trip should take in the region of between 60-90 minutes.

This is a rare and unforgettable opportunity to see one of the world's most famous bridges, and the surrounding Firth of Forth, from an entirely new perspective.

A strictly limited number of tickets have been made available at a special price of £125 per ticket to commemorate the 125th anniversary with all profits going directly to the Prince’s Trust. Network Rail will not benefit financially from this venture.

The Prince’s Trust supports disadvantaged young people across Scotland by giving them the practical and financial support they need to stabilise their lives. The Trust helps to develop key skills, confidence and motivation, enabling young people to move into work, education or training. The Million Makers Challenge is a yearly, national competition in which teams of employees come together and raise £1 million for The Prince’s Trust and make a real difference to the lives of disadvantaged young people across the UK. Network Rail is one of the participants in this year’s challenge and the defending Scottish champions from 2013.

Please note, the Forth Bridge continues to be operated as a worksite. Network Rail will provide helmets and high-vis jacket but you will be asked to bring your own sturdy footwear, preferably sturdy shoes or boots. No trainers, wellies, sandals, dress shoes or high heels will be permitted. You may be refused access to the bridge if your footwear is deemed to be unsuitable by one of the hosts. Please consider that it is always colder on top of the bridge so it is advisable to wear a few extra layers.

In addition to the climb you will be presented with a souvenir package as part of your experience.
