The Nutcracker: Moscow Ballet - La Classique

The Nutcracker is one of the most popular ballets and is the perfect early treat to get into the festive mood. With music by Tchaikovsky, the story takes place on Christmas Eve.

Clara, her family including her brother Fritz are gathered to decorate the Christmas tree. Clara and Fritz's godfather arrives bringing presents which he hands out, including a wooden nutcracker carved in the shape of a soldier.

The other children ignore the toy, but Clara takes a liking to it. However, Fritz takes it from her and breaks it leaving Clara heartbroken.

Later, during the night when all is quiet, Clara creeps back downstairs to find the nutcracker. But as the clock strikes midnight, something stirs in the darkness and so begins this magical tale...
