The History Of Jazz Piano: Richard Michael
One of Scotland’s most versatile musicians and Radio Scotland's "Jazz Jargonbuster". Richard is the author of ‘Jazz Beginnings’, was voted Jazz Educator of the year in the 2009 Parliamentary Jazz Awards and has just released his first solo piano CD.
He is currently Visiting Professor of Jazz Piano at St Andrews University and his 2010 Edinburgh Fringe show “The History of Jazz Piano”, won a Glasgow Herald “Angel” award for outstanding performance, and sold out in 2011 and 2012.
For services to Music Education, Richard was awarded a British Empire Medal in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2012.
