A Journey Round My Skull
A Journey Round My Skull is ‘a beguiling and beautiful’ love story put under the surgeon’s knife. Told by a neurosurgeon who casts the audience as her silent patient, this show gently and playfully transports you to the streets of
continental Europe, to a scrap over profiteroles, into neurosurgery and
onto the tracks of a ghost train.
Part storytelling, part 3D sound design, A Journey Round My Skull
operates on the ears as well as the heart to dissect our most intimate relationships.
The play was inspired by the auditory hallucinations experienced by Hungarian satirist Frigyes Karinthy as described in his extraordinary
medical memoir. At times in tonight’s performance the audience will be asked to wear headphones.
