The Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival
Europe’s biggest celebration of crime fiction that attracts festival goers from around the world. The event hosts up to 80 authors, including Val McDermid, Lynda La Plante, Laura Lippman, John Harvey, Sophie Hannah, SJ Watson, Ann Cleeves, Peter May and Denise Mina.
The festivla also features a one-day creative writing workshop with Laura Wilson and a series of top panels, featuring a wealth of leading crime authors including Tony Parsons, Mark Lawson, John Niven and Simon Kernick, as well as a Broadchurch TV special panel with actor Olivia Colman. It also boasts the only UK appearance of the world’s biggest author - JK Rowling, writing as Robert Galbraith.
