A composite book exhibition by 30 leading children’s illustrators in aid of Great Ormond St Hospital

Surrealists called the process ‘the cadavre exquis’ but most of us would know it as the parlour game, ‘Consequences’. Jason Ruddy persuaded 30 nationally acclaimed illustrators to each contribute a ‘spread’ towards a book about the travels and perils of a fat(-tish) red bear that will eventually be auctioned in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Now you can see all 30 spreads (by the likes of Neal Layton, David Roberts, Chris Riddell, Alex T Smith, Chris Haughton, Emma Chichester Clark – not to mention the introductory sketch by Quentin Blake) in this exhibition that has been curated by Chris Mould and funded by Dean Clough. We also hope that the exhibition will be invigilated by a large, inflatable bear made by the newest addition to the Dean Clough studio artists, Lisa Gort (with the aid of as-yet unwitting volunteers).
