Debs Newbold

Debs has taught and tells for Shakespeare's Globe and has performed in venues ranging from small club rooms to the Royal Opera House, the British Library and Elsinore Castle, and has made several appearances at the Hay Literary Festival and on BBC Radio 3. This will be the opportunity to spend a day with Debs learning or honing your storytelling skills.

Entitled "A storytelling taster day" this will be a fun, creative introductory workshop that will offer participants some basic first steps into performance storytelling. During the day the workshop will look at narrative structure, composition and repertoire and basic performance techniques, including improvisation, physicality and presence. The intention is that the day will serve as a springboard to attendees finding their own storytelling style and methodology.

The workshop will run from 10.30 -1.30 and again from 2.30-5.00, with a 60 minute break for lunch. As the workshop will be open to slight change depending upon how things go, the lunch hour may change a little.
