Organ Recital
Teenager Tom Etheridge will put the mighty Gloucester Cathedral organ through its paces when he performs his first public recital on it.
He is looking forward to closing the 2012 series of popular lunchtime concerts with a superb programme of music including Prière, Op. 20 – César Franck, Prelude and Fugue in D (BWV 532) – J.S. Bach and Prélude, Adagio and Choral varié sur le thème du “Veni Creator”, Op. 4 – Maurice Duruflé.
Tom was appointed to Gloucester Cathedral as Organ Scholar in September after completing his A Levels at Eton College. He will spend the current academic year in Gloucester to improve his playing and breadth of repertoire before taking up the Dr Mann Organ Scholarship, reading for a degree in History, at King’s College, Cambridge in October 2013
The performance will be projected live into the Nave via a large screen. Admission is free with a retiring collection in aid of Cathedral Music.
