Sing Saturday - Vaughan Williams: A Sea Symphony
Join us for the first of our informal Sing Saturdays, this season.
The longest (and first) of Vaughan Williams' symphonies and one of the first to use a choir throughout. So rather special then. Wonderful words by Walt Whitman from his famous Leaves of Grass and the four movements are:
A Song for All Seas, All Ships (soprano, baritone and chorus)
On the Beach at Night, Alone (baritone and chorus)
The Waves (chorus)
The Explorers (soprano, baritone, semi-chorus, and chorus)
We are using the Stainer & Bell version.
