In addition to having a first class and formidable reputation for highly entertaining concerts of wide public appeal, The Brighouse and Rastrick Band has many other notable triumphs to its credit in the highly competitive contesting field. Whilst obviously not winning every competition they enter, they are often amongst the prizes and their record of major championship victories since they first came to national prominence during the 1920s is certainly impressive.

The Fairey Band

Founded in 1937 from a group of employees at the Fairey Aviation Works this wonderful brass band are sixteen times British Open Champions and nine times winners of the title 'National Champion Band of Great Britain'.

The Leyland Band

The Leyland Band was established in 1946 in the heart of industrial Lancashire as the Leyland Motors Band. The last twenty five years of the Band's existence has been the most consistently successful in its history. After a meteoric rise through the various sections, the Band has witnessed scores of prize awards at all the major competitions in the brass band arena. The band is ranked 6th in the world (May 2010).
