For the first time ever, BBC Radio 6 Music is hosting its own Festival!
With more than 30 artists and DJs across 3 stages, the BBC Radio 6 Music Festival will bring together an inspiring line up of artists with an alternative spirit. From major established acts to potential future stars, the line up reflects the wide range of artists you can hear on BBC Radio 6 Music every day.
The BBC Radio 6 Music Festival Fringe is a separately ticketed free event running during the daytime on both days of the Festival, next door at the Victoria Warehouse hotel. The BBC Radio 6 Music Festival Fringe will run in two sessions each day between 12-3.20pm and 3.40-7pm. Reflecting the variety and alternative spirit of BBC Radio 6 Music, there will be:
* A spoken word stage featuring BBC Radio 6 Music’s favourite poets, artists from the festival line up in conversation, our DJs and more;
* England cricket legend Freddie Flintoff hosts a live panel of guests from the world of sport, music and comedy for a special edition of Five Live's Fighting Talk;
* A record fair featuring independent record shops from across the UK;
* A film screening area curated by BBC Radio 6 Music presenter and Grammy award winning music documentary maker Don Letts;
* A photographic exhibition by Jason Joyce, who documented some of the station’s most important moments from the last year;
* Performances curated by BBC Radio 6 Music’s award winning Freak Zone: Radiophonic Workshop (FRI) & The Part Time Heliocentric Cosmo Drama After School Club: A Sun Ra Tribute (SAT);
* Live band karaoke;
* And more surprises…
