Stroud Folk Festival

Stroud Folk Festival is back in September 2014 with a new festival committee to make the most of the folk connections in Stroud!

Starting in style on Friday night with Stroud Ceilidhs in the Subscription Room's ballroom, there will then be great music and dancing all day Saturday at the Sub Rooms, on the forecourt, in St Laurence's Church and other venues too.

A host of Morris Dancers will perform throughout the day and there will be a variety of workshops available. The line up will include some of the great and the good of the folk world, local, national and maybe international!

It will, of course, also include our Five Valleys Folk Award winners of 2013, The Black Feathers, and a new competition to find the 2014 winner.

Jim Moray has been announced as one of the headline acts. Jim is one of the most consistently inventive musicians working in English traditional music today. Winner of five BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, after five ground-breaking albums he now finds himself at the forefront of a new folk revival in the UK, and hailed as a pivotal influence by a new generation of folk musicians.
