Sailsbury Food & Drink Festival

Salisbury Food & Drink Festival 2014 is set to be a fantastic week of foodie events, family fun and gastronomical discoveries. The Festival runs from Monday 15 – Sunday 21 September, culminating in the ever popular Market Day. The newly developed Market Place and Guildhall Square will host more stalls of local and regional produce than ever before, spreading into the Guildhall itself. Look out for street theatre company Wet Picnic’s explosive and eccentric take on afternoon tea, learn new recipes and tips from an exciting range of professional chef demonstrations, and relax and enjoy live music while sampling local and regional cuisine and street food.

Throughout the week the Festival has an array of tempting events on the menu, with a visit from Thane Prince, who joins us from BBC2’s The Big Allotment Challenge, to share her tips for the perfect preserve; workshops, rambles and talks from Neal’s Yard Remedies; a food foraging walk and riotous cocktail hour with John Wright from River Cottage; a sparkling wine tasting at Cambridge Wines and a delicious film Chef at Salisbury Arts Centre. Look out for our Festival competition to design a new pancake filling, and take time to visit local cafés and restaurants offering special events and menus throughout the week.
