The Festival of Love was created together with hundreds of artists, communities and partners and with many opportunities for the public to get involved. Different types of human love will be explored in the Festival – from the love of humanity to romantic, erotic love and the breakdown of relationships, to the love for close family and friends – in a wide-ranging programme of performances, poetry, music, differently-themed weekends, exhibitions and installations across the site.

Differently-themed weekends throughout summer including finale Big Wedding Weekend when Southbank Centre welcomes all couples to marry in mass ceremonies in the Royal Festival Hall.

Installations include Temple of Agape by Morag Myerscough and Luke Morgan; Love Flags by Turner Prize nominee Mark Titchner; Sliding Gate – play slides by Sean Griffiths – symbolising the ups and downs of family life; and Tunnel of Love by Heart n Soul.

The return of ZooNation’s critically-acclaimed Groove On Down The Road, based on The Wizard of Oz, a classic tale of friendship and love of family, as well as two shows about female sexuality and relationships in the 21st century.
