Hot Air: Myrtle Theatre Company
Six o’clock on a summer’s morning, flying out over the countryside and it’s just…peaceful…beautiful. In this basket you’ve got three-sixty vision. It gives you amazing perspective…and freedom. Gaze down at the people below and you think “look at them scurrying about down there…poor sods”.
It’s International Fiesta time and the balloonists take to the air for the flight of their lives. Ride the highs and lows of the dream-making process. From balloon factory machinist to Sky God, meet the real people that make it happen. Glimpse into the lives of those stuck on the ground looking up for inspiration and hoping that the other Cameron, in Westminster, isn’t talking a lot of hot air!
Whether you have been up there yourself, crave the hubbub of the Fiesta or just love watching from afar, Bristol-based Myrtle Theatre’s Hot Air is a touching, funny and beautiful piece of theatre and music that celebrates Bristol people and one of its most legendary industries.
Suitable for age 12 and over.
The performance on 31st July will be signed. The performance on 1st August at 2:30pm will be a relaxed performance, slightly adapted to ensure a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for those with a learning disability and their families.
