Grand Medieval Mêlée Featuring Tournament Of The Knights

This was an age of chivalry, tournaments, mock battles and mêlées, when a knight’s reputation and fortune was made or lost on the battlefield. Squires, stewards and maidens in fabulous costumes gather at ‘the Castle Tourney’ to witness the knights take each other on in some spectacular fighting displays – all on foot. Fearsome skills, strength and prowess are required in fistfuls, together with some dastardly deeds and underhand tactics, until there’s just one knight left standing.

Within the colourful tented village that fills the Castle grounds everyday life goes on - medieval style - with demonstrations of cooking, weaving and preparations for battle. An enthralling demonstration of the art of falconry, mesmeric storytelling and have- a-go archery, will keep everyone entertained throughout the day.
