The Literary Salon
As part of Richmond upon Thames Literature Festival, The Literary Salon is a pop-up space exploring literature in many forms to encompass design, debate, technology and performance. Housed in an empty shop at 54 Heath Road, Twickenham, and open for the duration of the festival, this interactive space offers workshops and events for all ages from a selection of highly acclaimed authors, artists and poets.
With interactive design elements and links to the Children's Illustration Exhibition at Orleans House Gallery, the space will also be open as a community hub for you to air your thoughts and opinions, ask questions or just spend some time. The Literary Salon is a new friendly and welcoming venue for the 2012 festival.
The new pop-up shop will provide a stage for some of the most exciting live literatures events for all ages. The programme includes a podcasting workshop, tea, cake and storytelling, poetry and performances from renowned spoken word artists Martin Figura, Byron Vincent, Inua Ellams and Jacob Sam-La Rose.
