Venus: Let The Music Do The Talking

Venus Carmichael's current whereabouts remain unknown. According to the Poughkeepsie Gazette, she was in the small New York State town for a gig in January this year. Since then, even her blog has been quiet. There have been rumours she spent time previously in the Chiapas region of Mexico, the south of Spain, and even her native Arbroath.

What we do know is that her eponymous tribute band claim to have some way of accessing new songs by the Seventies singer-songwriter, and their next show might be the only way of hearing them – at least for now.

Carmichael’s songs are full of pathos, emotion, and a dry wit all her own. Hear Kelly Brooks and Andrew C Ferguson perform them in the relaxed atmosphere of the upstairs function room in the Meadow Bar.
