The Gallery Book Lounge: 44 Scotland Street

A new, monthly book group for lovers of art and reading.

This month the book is highly entertaining novel 44 Scotland Street by Edinburgh author Alexander McCall Smith. The story is set in Edinburgh’s New Town where one of the characters spots a painting in a gallery that may or may not be the work of artist Samuel Peploe. Peploe’s grandson makes an appearance and Peploe and his contempories also lived in the New Town, so this book is a perfect link to The Scottish Colourist Series: SJ Peploe exhibition.
