Words Of The War Poets
To celebrate National Poetry Day and as part of the World War One centenary, the King's Theatre and the Touring Consortium Theatre Company are hosting this insightful and entertaining look at works of the famous war poets, Sassoon and Owen, who visited Craiglockhart hospital as shell shock patients, and Graves who visited Sassoon whilst he was there.
Hosted by Alistair McCleery, professor of Literature and Culture at Napier University, and accompanied by three cast members from the world premiere production of Pat Barker’s Regeneration, Words Of The War Poets is a delightful mix of poetry readings, historical insight and an opportunity to learn a little more about the fascinating Craiglockhart hospital.
