James Lowe makes a welcome return as guest conductor with the MCO. The clarinetist, composer and director Scott Lygate was born in Ayrshire and has established himself as a significant emerging UK talent. This season the MCO has commissioned eight works from composers based in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Two works receive their premieres in this concert.
