Although they have a seemingly conventional folk line-up of violin, acoustic guitar, mandolin and accordion, Spiro use familiar folk tunes as the raw materials to build their extraordinary 'mesh' sound around. The result is the sense that each member of the band isn't just playing one instrument, they're playing the whole thing.
Spiro have taken festival audiences by storm at WOMAD, Cambridge and Moseley Folk Festivals.
