Call Mr Robeson - A Life, With Songs
A rollercoaster journey through the life of African-American actor and singer, Paul Robeson highlighting how his activism as a civil rights campaigner led to his downfall.
Featuring fiery oratory - including Robeson's defiant testimony to the House Un-American Activities Committee - and songs for which he became synonymous like Ol' Man River, this multi-award winning production revives one of the 20th century's most impressive but overlooked figures.
We are delighted to programme this powerful and compelling tour-de-force - which was performed at New York's Carnegie Hall in February 2012 - to celebrate Black History Month.
A stunning piece of musical theatre.... high quality drama, first class singing" Fringe Review.
"Excellent ... convincing ... gripping ... inspiring production. " Broadway Baby.
"Simply told but immensely powerful" The Scotsman.
