Creative Computing Interactive Club Taster 1

Following a successful summer club in Summertown this July, Science Oxford announces the second Creative Computing club, where this time the focus is on making Interactive Art. Science Oxford is running two taster days and one creative project day for girls aged between 11-16 about making and crafting your own computer-controlled creations.

The taster days cover the basics of computer programming and simple art projects that use the popular ‘Arduino’ microcontroller. These computing concepts are taught in a fun and interactive way allowing students to experiment with ideas and develop their knowledge on their own.

FREE, but a £100 fully returnable deposit is required (it may be possible to waive this deposit in cases of financial hardship).

Students can attend just a taster day or both a taster day and a project day. At the project day, students will work on their own technical art ideas and build their own creative projects using buttons, lights, buzzers and a variety of sensors to bring to life art. Art that will interact with the real world! Participants are free to collaborate on projects.

The taster days are on Saturday, 22nd November 2014 and Saturday 29th of November 2014. The projects day is on Sunday 30th November 2014. Each session runs from 9am-4pm
