Summer’s End; Poetry In Music For a War To End Wars
This free performance will take visitors from an Edwardian English idyll to the soulful poetry emerging from the First World War. It includes sections from the Merrie England Suite by Edward German, popular wartime songs and settings of war poems 'In Flanders Fields' and 'The Soldier'. Eclectica are joined by baritone Richard Parker for this informal and informative recital exploring history in music.
