In 1948 Cyril Scott was appointed Curator of the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum. He laid the foundations for a collection focusing on the bicycle and motor industry, which grew and eventually became what is now Coventry Transport Museum.

This year’s Scott Lecture takes place at the Herbert, where it all began, and celebrates the centenary of his birth.
