Laetitia Yhap In conversation With Graham Whitham
Taking over the De'Longhi Print Room this month is a new exhibition of drawings and paintings depicting the fishing community of Hastings Stade, created by the Sussex-based artist Laetitia Yhap. Yhap immersed herself completely in the community over a 20 year period, until a realisation that she was allergic to the substance in the paint forced her to end the series. The exhibition will focus on the progression from her initial, raw sketches of the men to her fully realised paintings and includes a selection of drawings and smaller paintings, typically created on boards and in frames made by the artist herself.
You can see Laetitia Yhap in conversation with Graham Whitham, Lecturer at the University of Kent, on Thursday 7 March at 6pm.
