Shylock
In Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice, Shylock's character was penned as a comic villain, a character to be mocked and scorned. However in the depths of his despair it begs the question was he a victim of racial discrimination or just plain bad?
Poignant and humorous, Gareth Armstrong's Shylock is rightly one of the world's most successful solo shows.
In collaboration with fellow Welshman Guy Masterson, perhaps the world's leading exponent of the form, he beautifully honours one of Shakespeare's finest creations from one of his greatest plays.
