The first BBC National Orchestra of Wales concert promises a myriad of orchestral sounds with the concert premiere of Mark Bowden’s new percussion concerto Heartland.
The percussion thread continues through to Qigang Chen’s Enchantements oubliés with its rich vein of French and oriental colours. And whilst Sebastian Currier’s heart may firmly remain in the USA there is little doubt that the Chinese theme will continue in his new work Quanta, written directly in response to his experiences of visiting the country last year.
