The Lesson Of Anatomy

On 5 July 1974, the newly founded Cardiff Laboratory for Theatrical Research (later Cardiff Laboratory Theatre) presented The Lesson of Anatomy in the Sherman Arena during the theatre's opening season, based on the texts that French theatre visionary Antonin Artaud wrote in the final two years of his life.

On 5 July 2014, Mike Pearson recreates his solos from The Lesson of Anatomy - forty years to the day and on the same spot, now Theatre 2.

A rare and fascinating glimpse of 'experimental theatre' from a time when anything seemed possible and of styles of performance long disappeared. And a poignant reminder of the impacts of aging, as Mike attempts the original choreography.
