Lunchtime Concert

Programme to include:

Mikhail Glinka Variations on a Theme of Mozart
Paul Hindemith Sonate für Harfe
Elias Parish Alvars Introduction and Variations on Bellini's 'Norma'
Jan Freidlin Sonata in Three Visions
Elias Parish Alvars Serenade for harp Op. 83

There’s always something magical about the sound of the harp – but as this recital proves, there’s steel beneath the glitter! The award-winning German harpist Florence Sitruk plays a 20th century classic by Hindemith, a striking modern showpiece from Israel by way of Siberia, a tribute to Mozart from Imperial Russia, and two short gems by Parish Alvars – the so-called “Paganini of the Harp”.
