A Sporting Life Temporary Exhibition
Sport has always formed an integral part of Army Life, with both areas being reliant on the same physical fitness. This sporting prowess within the Armed Forces is evident in the sporting achievements of 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards, which has contributed to Olympic competitions since 1959, most notably with the Equestrian Captain Mark Phillips who won an Olympic Gold medal. Even more unusually the Regiment has participated within several Winter Olympic Bobsleigh teams.
To celebrate the 2012 Olympics, this exhibition takes a look at the sporting achievements of our Regiments.
