Bedazzled – A Welshman In New York

Developed as part of the Dylan Thomas 100 Festival and Cardiff Contemporary, Ffotogallery presents Bedazzled – A Welshman In New York, a live performance celebrating the special relationship Dylan Thomas had with the United States, New York in particular, and the enduring influence of his life and work on both sides of the Atlantic.

You are invited to join Dylan and his American buddies for a drink at the famous White Horse Tavern in Greenwich Village. Pull up a bar stool and be transported back to the heady bohemian world of New York in the early 1950s where Thomas' charisma and lyrical use of language left all around him spellbound.

Conceived by artistic director David Drake, writer/actor Ben Gwalchmai and composer John Rea, live performances incorporating moving image and sound and the accompanying virtual tavern will provide audiences around the world with a glimpse into Dylan Thomas' life in New York and the surrounding cultural milieu. Actors Ceri Murphy, Arthur Hughes, Catriona James and RhysDowning portray the many different sides of Dylan Thomas and the artists, writers, social misfits and outsiders who were in his orbit during the last years of his life.
