The Magical Mande Tradition Comes To Cardiff

Idrissa Camara and Sura Susso lead a small ensemble of master musicians from the Mande cultural world in West Africa. Camara is a charismatic dancer and musician from Guinea, Conakry. In just two years, he has taken his Cardiff-based company "Ballet Nimba" to acclaimed performances at London's Southbank Centre and the main stage of WOMAD.

Susso is a virtuoso percussionist and kora player (a traditional 21-stringed harp) from the Gambia. He has toured internationally with his senior brother, Seckou Keita, and has now carved out his own very successful career. Expect breath-taking dance, soaring vocals and entrancing instrumentalists reinterpreting 14th-century repertoires with a contemporary spin.
