Having sold out Manchester and Wembley Arenas in April by collectively showcasing to just over 20,000 people, Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, nephew to the late and great Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, returns to the UK aiming to recreate the energy he and his Qawwali band generate within our shores in Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena Sunday, 4th November 2012.
To cater for his legion of fans across Wales, Rahat has devised a novel show for Cardiff. His aim is twofold. To create beautiful music and also give every spectator a spiritual experience which can only be described as one which will leave every spectator revitalized in their heart and mind.
Rahat will be performing all of his famous Qawwali hits including those so entrenched in Qawwali history by his late Uncle and of course his award winning Bollywood tracks Tere Mast Mast Do Nain and Teri Meri and recent hits.
Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan
The nephew of the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan is a Pakistani musician and singer of Qawwali, a devotional music of the Sufis. The transcendent nature of the poetic lyrics, in combination with a vivacious musical base and the participatory act of Sama, stirs ecstatic feelings of mystical adoration among both performers and audience members alike.
