Cathays WMC

This band comprising of a number of students from Cardiff University, fronted by Benny Atkinson on brass and Sam Robertson on saxes. They are joined by Patrick Reardon-Morgan and Andrew Hughes on percussion, Mark Smith on keys, and Harry Gould on bass.

The band aspires to play high-quality jazz music with a distinctive northern edge and draws on Sam and Benny's roots in Nantwich, Cheshire and Clitheroe, Lancashire respectively.

Taking folk songs and popular songs from the North of England, and combining them with some 'jazzified' brassband pieces along with some standard Jazz rep, the band aims to create a varied and exciting programme.
