Emily Wilding Davison: The One Who Threw Herself Under The Horse
A new play about this extraordinary, enigmatic suffragette's life and death.
Set in the context of the struggle for women to have the vote in the first half of the twentieth century, it addresses questions relevant to our own time about the nature of protest, risk, personal sacrifice, fanaticism, torture and the role of the state. Yet at the centre of the play is a real woman with her own hopes, beliefs, frustrations, feather boa and deadpan sense of humour.
